The Buccaneers RFC held their annual Hall of Fame & Awards banquet on October 14.  It was a lively evening with over 70 players, alumni and guests attending.  Congratulations to all the award winners, and, especially Simon Bright, our 2017 Hall of Fame inductee.  Hats off to Simon Bright’s acceptance speech, and Stu Betteridge’s hilarious HOF introduction.

With a switch to a new venue for 2015, the Buccaneers held their annual Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner at Whistler’s Bar and Grill – The McNeil Room.

After a rousing Fall Cup finals match at Fletcher’s Fields which saw the Toronto Saracens take the cup over the Bucs 46-24, the Buccaneers held their annual Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner that evening. Congratulations to the 2014 season award winners:

The Buccaneers club are especially proud of their 2014 season. The Buccaneers fielded two men’s teams and two junior teams. The Bucs U18 were TRU championship finalists, and the Bucs senior men’s were TRU Plate Champions, and TRU Fall Cup finalists.

Continuing the tradition started in 2012, the annual Buccaneers Awards ceremony was coupled with our Hall of Fame induction ceremony for 2013. There was much to celebrate at the High Park Club, both with season awards, former Hall of Famer’s presence and a bittersweet farewell to our past few season’s coach, Lee Yarntonat. Congratulations go out to the 2013 season winners:

Participants enjoyed a great night at the High Park Club, and had a chance to mingle with alumni whilst enjoying some great food, beverages and fiddle music graciously provided by our own Dan Breault. 2011 SEASON AWARD WINNERS

presday2With high anticipation the Buccaneers annual President’s Day and Awards was held on October 22 this year. A day that is held high in the hearts of all Buccaneers, old and new, with many likening the event to Christmas. A spirited game of rugby was played with the President’s team beating the Captain’s team by a lot to a little. (special mention goes to all star President’s team fullback Sean Webb, and our slightly inexeperienced referee McLovin). We then retired to the Fox where our 2011 club awards were given out and a few quiet beverages were enjoyed by all. Congratulations to the 2011 award winners:

2010 SEASON AWARD WINNERS

about3November 6, 2010 marked the 25th Anniversary of the President’s Game and the Bucc’s celebrated the day as only they can. With a great turnout from both current and alumni players, the beautiful sunny day at Monarch Park was a perfect tribute to the wonderful tradition the club has kept alive. In a spirited match, the President’s team came away the victors of the day. As per ususal the day was capped off back at our sponsor pub, The Leaside Pub for our annual awards. The 2010 winners were:

MVP – Aaron ‘Shakey’ Barber (awarded and accepted instead by James Phillips, club President and presenter, in lieu of Shakey’s absence from the proceedings for the second straight year)


2009 SEASON AWARD WINNERS

about2After the annual President’s Game, (special thanks goes out to Jose Duarte and Dave Nixon for referee duties!) where the Captains XV was victorious over the President’s XV with a score of 5 tries to 2 in a firecly competitive match, the Buccs retired to their sponsor pub the Leaside Pub for the annual awards presentation.
