2010 EXECUTIVE

I'm pleased to announce the Buccaneers RFC new executive committee for 2010.  This is a great group of volunteers who will ensure the club's success both on and off the field.

President – James Phillips.  James, a halfback, has been with the Buccaneers since 1998 and is one of the longest serving members of the club.  James is a former Bucs captain and was MVP in 2007.  Before the Bucs he played with the Bancroft Blackflies RFC.

Captain – Paul Collins.  Paul, a backrow player, is a newer member to the Bucs and won the 'Kelo Davis' Rookie of the Year award in 2009.  Paul used to play with Nailsea & Blackwell RFC backhome in the UK, and was a former member of the Toronto Lions RFC.

Club Secretary – Kevin Plummer.  Kevin, a flanker with the Bucs, is returning as an executive member, and has been invaluable to ensuring the administration is properly done for the team.  Kevin, a native of British Columbia, is an alumni of the UNB Ironmen RFC.

Fixtures – Fraser Cook.  Fraser is in his second year with the Buccaneers.  The second row forward used to play rugby for his high school at Riverdale Collegiate, and also played at Brock University.  Fraser was a runner up for rookie of the year in 2009 and was a big reason for a much improved engine room in the Bucs scrum last season.

Social – Tim Morton.  Tim returns to the Buccaneers as social director and has brought a lot of much needed energy and enthusiasm to the club.  Tim is a prop forward, though is rumoured to be slimming down for a chance to play backrow in 2010.  Tim is also the Buccaneers sports pool guru, and helped form the Buccaneers hockey team.  Tim was the Bucs Clubman of the Year in 2009.

Treasurer – Adam McMillan.  Adam takes on the daunting task of looking after club finances.  Adam, a utility back, is an alumni of the UNB Ironmen RFC, and, a founding member of the Sudbury Stones RFC.  Adam was the winner of the Buccaneers' Heart & Soul award in 2008.

Recruitment Officer – Simon Cooper has volunteered for the first year of the new position.  Simon, a flyhalf, is a former captain and MVP of the Buccaneers RFC, and used to play for Biggleswade RFC back home in England.
