Sunnybrook Park – No Access to the Park from Eglinton July-August 2019
Due to the ongoing Crosstown LRT work, the city is closing the intersection of Leslie and Eglinton for the months of July and August.
Details of Closure:
– Eglinton will remain open, running one lane in each direction.
– Leslie, which ends at Eglinton, will remain open as well but cars heading south on Leslie will be forced to turn back around when they get to Eglinton.
– Vehicles will not be able to connect from Leslie to Eglinton nor from Eglinton to Leslie.
– Construction on nearby major north-south routes would move out of the intersections before the Leslie Street proposed closure happens.Traffic lanes are expected to be opened and turn restrictions lifted at Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue in May and Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue in June.
How to Access Park:
TTC
For those who us the TTC, there will be minimal disruption. Buses will still be going east/west on Eglinton can you can get off thus and cross to Leslie and walk into the park. If you are coming south on the bus on Leslie, it will turn back at Eglinton, but you can still get off.
The 34 will still maintain the same route, but the 51 and 54 will terminate at Leslie. You can still use all 3 to access the park on foot, using the above directions.
Keep in mind though that traffic will increase so please leave yourself enough time not to be late for games or practice!
Vehicles
You can still access the park from the North via Leslie. Access via Eglinton/Bayview/Post/Park Lane/Lawrence/Leslie from the west, and Don Mills/Lawrence/Leslie from the east.
