BUCS STUFFED ON THE ROAD

Saturday July 11 saw the Buccaneers RFC travel to Orillia to take on the second place Dingoes.  It was a big game for both clubs as only 4 points seperated the two sides in the TRU B standings.  Although both sides started strong, it was clearly the Dingoes who wanted the match more.  Orillia's hard running, effective offloading, and well executed back plays saw them run away with a 50 – 8 win over the Toronto squad.

The Buccaneers RFC will be looking for redemption from this disappointing loss in their two upcoming matches on Saturday, July 18th, where the Buccaneers 1st XV will be hosting the Saxons 1st, and the Bucs 2nd XV will be facing Muddy York.  Both matches likely to be held at Fletcher's Fields should the Toronto Labour strike continue.

As the TRU B league is structured, the division championship will be played between the 1st and 2nd place teams as per the end of the regular season.  The Bucs are now 9 points adrift of 2nd place, and have their work cut out for them.  With five games left in the regular season, the Buccaneers must win four of their remaining matches to have a chance to be playing in the finals.  This includes a must-win game where the Bucs host the Dingoes on August 8th.
