UPCOMING FIXTURES, PRACTICE AND SOCIALS

Buccaneers,

We’ve got a big weekend of rugby coming up!

Practice continues Tuesday at Riverdale Park. We may be moving to Sunnybrook for practice on Thursday, but that will depend on weather.

Buccaneers v. Dragons

We have a league match against the Toronto Dragons on Saturday at 3pm at Eglinton Flats.

This is a winnable game and we need good turnout at practice to prepare. Remember if you can’t practice, you can’t play. That said, if there are circumstances beyond your control that make it impossible to attend practice, please let Coach Lee know ASAP and he is willing to work something out.

A Teamer request will be coming through, so please advise of your availability ASAP.

If you have any questions, please contact Captain Cook

Buccaneers v Northeast Philadelphia Irish

We have a second game this weekend!

We are scheduled to play a touring side from Philadelphia on Sunday, May 26th. This is a great opportunity for anyone who may not start or get a full game against the Dragons to get some additional rugby in.

We are confirming the time and place, but please book off the afternoon for the match so we can play the game and then host them back at the Fox.

While we realize that this means a full weekend (Sat/Sun) of rugby, but we need all hands on deck for the one. So if you can make yourself available, please do so.

If you have questions about the touring side match, please contact James Phillips or Captain Cook directly.

More information will be forthcoming when confirmed.

As you all know, the Buccaneers pride themselves on our active social side. One thing that players asked for though was a schedule of upcoming social events so they could plan their summer accordingly. You’ll find our calendar is now up to date with planned social events, but a few key dates to keep open:

International Match

We still have tickets left for the international on June 15. It is only 4 weeks away, so do not delay in placing your order. This can be done HERE or by contacting Social Director Joey Neglia directly.

Our annual “Pink Ladies Day” will be our first home match at Sunnybrook on June 8th. This is an event where everyone is asked to wear pink (including our players) and we raise money for Rethink Breast Cancer. We invite our partners, sisters, friends, etc… and run raffles and raise money to help in the fight against breast cancer.

Please do your best to take part in this event, even if it is just coming to the Fox.

Our annual Buccs/YeoLions pub crawl has been set for August 10. The tradition of terrorizing the city of Toronto on some form of transport continues. Stay tuned for the theme.

We’ll also be holding social events the Thursday prior to the two remaining long weekend this summer, beginning with Rock climbing on June 27th at the Toronto Rock Climbing Academy. More details to follow.

If you have any questions regarding the social calendar, please contact Social Director Joey Neglia
