There is NO exhibition rugby game for this Saturday, April 26 as Balmy Beach has back out.

The Toronto Rugby Union has released our season schedule. The full season is on the Buccaneers website. Please see the following schedule for upcoming rugby in MAY:

April 29 & May 1 – practice, Riverdale 6:30 – 8 pm

May 3 – EXHIBITION GAME vs. Etobicoke Invictus (ALL BUCCANEERS PLAYERS WILL PLAY IN THIS GAME – IT IS UNLIMITED SUBS)

May 6 & 8 – practice, Riverdale 6:30 – 8 pm

May 10 – Season Opener for 1st team vs Brock RFC, 1:30 pm @ Brock – Bus is chartered. (The Bucs can only dress 23 players for this match – however, all Bucs are welcome and encouraged to come on the bus trip, cheer on their mates and enjoy the festivities on the bus ride back). Bus will be leaving from and returning to the Fox & Fiddle, 190 Laird.

May 13 – practice, Riverdale 6:30 – 8 pm

May 15 – SCRIMMAGE PRACTICE, with ref, Riverdale. 6:30 pm warm up and team selection, 7 pm kick-off. Three 15 minute periods.

May 17 – NO GAMES

May 20 & 22 – practice, Riverdale 6:30 – 8 pm

May 24 – TWO MATCHES – Regular season match vs. Cobourg Saxons RFC @ Cobourg. Bus is chartered. BOTH BUCS MEN’S TEAMS WILL BE PLAYING – 2nd team @ 1:30 pm, 1st team @ 3:00 pm. ALL BUCCANEERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO MAKE THEMSELVES AVAILABLE FOR THIS DAY – TWO FULL RUGBY MATCHES TO BE PLAYED!

May 27 & 29 – practice, Riverdale 6:30 – 8 pm (we hope by this time our regular season rugby pitch at Sunnybrook Park will be open, in which case practice will be moved there. Plenty of notice will be given when we move practice).

May 31 – Home opener for Buccaneers hosting Balmy Beach at Sunnybrook Park, kick-off at 3:30 pm. (Bucs can only dress 23 players for this match, but all players encouraged to attend to cheer on their mates).

We might be able to schedule another match for the Buccaneers 2nd men’s team in May, however field space is limited. Although this might not be as much action as some players want, keep in mind we have FIVE 2nd team matches booked in June & July, so there’s plenty of rugby to go around! (Plus a little longer to practice and season our 2nd team and newer players will definitely lay the ground work for a successful summer season of rugby!):

June 7 – vs. Dingoes II @ Eglinton Flats 1:30 pm

June 21 – vs. Nomads III @ Sunnybrook 5 pm

July 5 – vs. Highlanders II @ North Halton 1:30 pm

July 12 – vs. Etobicoke @ Sunnybrook 1:30 pm

July 19 – vs. Yeomen II @ Yeomen 1:30 pm
