Buccaneers RFC Club News
Our club’s annual PINK LADIES DAY approaches this Saturday June 20!
Bucs 2 versus Bay Street RFC 3 at 1:30 pm, and Bucs 1 versus Etobicoke Invictus RFC at 3 pm.
Bring out your wives, girlfriends, partners, family & friends! We use this day to raise donations for ReThink Breast Cancer, a worthy charitable organization the Buccaneers RFC has been supporting for a number of years.
You can forgo your usual blue Bucs golf shirt and please wear something pink to show you support! The main fund raising will be held at the Leaside Pub after the matches with a series of raffles for some amazing prizes (Team Signed Rugby Canada Jersey, Jays Tickets, Liquor Basket, Tickets to Pan Am Games 7s Finals, and much more)!
Our head coach, Drew McPherson, will be joining us permanently for the summer as of June 30! Drew’s duties as a school teacher are wrapping up shortly and he plans a speedy getaway from Saskatchewan to join us here in Toronto.
The rest of the season regular schedule has been released! Check out the ‘FIXTURES’ tab on the Bucs website soon for the full schedule (hopefully within the next day or so). Note on July 4 the Buccaneers RFC will be fielding THREE rugby teams to host the Dragons 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams. All hands on deck!
We are hosting a guest coach from Australia at TOMORROW’S PRACTICE, June 16th; Warren Robilliard. Warren was the Australian Rugby Union’s coach education manager from 1995 to 2011. Warren has worked with rugby talent of the highest levels in Australia and plans to pass on some tips and strategies to the Buccaneers that have made the Australian Rugby Union one of the most successful rugby programs in the world.
Go Bucs!
