Congratulations to both Buccaneers 1s and 2s for securing two away wins last weekend. The Buccaneers 2s won a hard fought match against Bay Street RFC 3s, and the Bucs 1s secured home field for playoffs win a win over Orillia. A big congrats to Adib and Victor as two more U18 juniors who got their first crack at playing men’s seniors and both played very well!

Bucs 2 have been scheduled for a TRU Central Division ‘Bowl Championship’ against Balmy Beach 3s. It’s a ‘home and away’ series with total highest combined score winning the Championship. The first match will be August 16 at Balmy Beach Field (corner of Coxwell and Eastern), 12 pm kick-off. The second match will be at Sunnybrook Park, August 23, 12pm kick-off.

Bucs 1 are playing for the TRU B Division ‘Plate Championship’ and will host a semi-final vs. North Halton August 16, at Sunnybrook, 5 pm kick off. The winner will face the winner of the other semi-final match up (Brock & Cobourg) on Saturday August 23 at Fletcher’s Fields for the Championship.

Not to be outdone, our Buccaneers U18 Juniors secured third place in their league and will be playing the Mississauga Blues this Wednesday at 6:15 pm at the Balmy Beach Rugby Field (corner of Coxwell and Eastern). If you’re free come out to cheer on our juniors!

Only two weeks left of practices before both our clubs will be playing in Championship games! Make the most out of it – it’s no coincidence that we had 40 Buccaneers at rugby practice last Thursday, followed by wins for both our men’s teams! Drew is in Ontario only until the end of August so squeeze out every minute you can with him on the rugby pitch!
