BUCCS IN FALL CUP

Bucs – we have 3 games scheduled in September and I’m hoping the enthusiasm we had at the end of our season carries over to good numbers available for our upcoming games! The Buccaneers are participating in the Toronto Rugby Union Fall Cup, which is a tournament for TRU Men’s Rugby clubs who wish to continue playing rugby past the close of the summer season. The four teams participating are the Toronto Buccaneers, Toronto Saracens, Mississauga Blues, and Toronto Dragons.

The Fall Cup tournament is set up in two matches; a semi-final, and a final.

We have drawn the Toronto Dragons RFC to play against this Saturday, September 6, 1:30 pm, at the Eglinton Flats. The winner of this match will play the winner of the other semi-final (Blues vs. Saracens) on September 27. The losers will face off for third place also on September 27.

Please let us know your availability ASAP via TEAMER, or email, text, or call club captain Fraser Cook (captain@buccaneersrugby.com), or Brian (president@buccaneersrugby.com).

The club will send out a 23 man roster selection for the Dragons game by Thursday, September 4.

Due to the gap between September 6 and September 27, to keep the Bucs from getting rusty we have also schedule an exhibition game against the Burlington Centaurs RFC (vs. their second team), in Burlington on Saturday, September 13, 1:30 pm kick-off. The current president of the Burlington Centaurs is Tim Morton, a former Toronto Buccaneer. Don Hammond, another former Buc also now calls Burlington home. We expect both lads to welcome us on the pitch, and after in their club house with plenty of free beer!!

ANYONE NOT LISTED, OR STARTING ON SEPTEMBER 6 WILL BE STARTING ON SEPTEMBER 13 vs. BURLINGTON!

Information for our last Fall game on September 27 will be announced closer to the date.

Cheers!
