Buccs Lose Last Game of Season
The Buccs made the long trip to Belleville for the final regular season game against the Bulldogs. Even though the Buccs only had a little over 20 guys show up for both teams, they still managed to play two games with a little help from the host Bulldogs. The league leading Belleville put on a clinic and played very sound rugby handing both teams significant losses, with Buccs 2 losing by a margin of 62 – 0 and Buccs 1 losing by a total of 74 – 0.
Though the Buccs suffered losses they did not give up on the pitch at any point continuing to make tackles until the very last whistle. This season has been somewhat of a development season for the Buccs being the first year they have fielded two sides and managing to commit two sides to every game except for one. Both teams played hard on Saturday and even with the loss held their heads high and left the pitch in good spirits, joining their hosts for for some beers and food at their pub. Man of the match went to Chris Duggan, the actual longest serving member of the Buccs (apologies Tony). Thanks to all those who made the trip for the game in Belleville, especially those who came to support to the team.
There will be more rugby for the Buccs this year will keep you all posted as it develops.
