Both our men’s teams will be playing in the Burlington Centaurs 15s tournaments this Saturday, May 7th.  The tournament runs from 10 am to 5 pm at the Burlington clubhouse.  Games are 20 min halves and there are two fields side by side at the Burlington clubhouse where the games will take place.  It’s a round-robin format with both teams playing 3 games each.

The Bucs 1st team will be playing in the Premier division against Yeomen, Burlington 1, and Sudbury.  Team with the best record wins tournament division.

The Bucs 2nd team will be playing the Open division against Grimsby, North Halton, and Burlington 2.

The tournament schedule is:

Bucs 1 vs. Yeomen – 10 am

Bucs 1 vs. Burlington 1 – 11:50 am

Bucs 1 vs. Sudbury – 2:30 pm

Bucs 2 vs. Grimsby 11 am

Bucs 2 vs. Burlington 1:40 pm

Bucs 2 vs. North Halton 3:20 pm

Burlington is providing a free lunch to all participants.  A beer tent will be open from 11 am to 5 pm, and there is also a live band after the tournament at the Burlington clubhouse.  There is a ‘rock-band dress theme’ for those planning to party there after.

The Burlington Centaurs Rugby Club (clubhouse and fields) is located at 5130 Fairview St., Burlington.

Make sure you mark your availability on Teamer when prompted.  Team line ups will be announced Friday, May 6 via club email.  Keep in mind whether you’re listed on the 1st of 2nd team, you may be expected to play for either side during the tournament!

We will be carpooling from the Leaside Pub (190 Laird) at 8 am on Saturday to travel to Burlington.  Please email Chris Burt (director of men’s rugby & club interim captain) to confirm you need a ride through car pool!
