PRESIDENT’S DAY!!!!!!

Buccaneers & Alumni,

It is finally here. The day you’ve been waiting all year for. You know what it is…

Yes, PRESIDENT’S DAY!!

For those of you new to the club, President’s Day is an annual event where we meet up at our bar (Fox & Fiddle Leaside) for a few beverages and to watch the International Fall Test matches, then later in the afternoon we move to a local field and play an inter-squad game of rugby. The President’s XV vs. the Captain’s XV.

Teams are picked and a social and spirited game of rugby is played. This often includes some players trying out new positions (there is a reason Richie Williams twitter handle is Fat Fly Half), as well as alumni coming back for few more moments of rugby glory.

And the best part, we do this whilst wearing silly hats. So, start combing the attic, basement, storage locker, or dollar store for a funny hat to wear in the game.

The festivities start at 9:30am at the Fox, with the England v Australia game – which also happens to be the two teams supported by our Club Captain and President respectively. So bragging rights will really be on the line! Don’t bother asking to meet at the Field, as this will be a deeply held secret until game time! Come to the pub and you’ll find out!

We will then retire back to the Fox for post-match beverages and to tell stories of past glories, the winning team drinks out of the trophy and mocks the losers, and there may even be some special awards given out.

So, all Buccaneers both young and old are encouraged to attend even if not playing.

See you there!!

P.S. There is usually an entry fee charged by Setanta (now Sportsnet World) for watching the game, which everyone including the Fox hates, but we can’t do much about it. We will pass on the amount (usually $20 for the day) as soon as we can confirm the amount.
