Scrimmage vs Toronto Scottish – Thursday May 15
Buccaneers,
Scottish III’s were looking for a scrimmage match this Thursday so we’re happy to oblige. It’s all set up to take place Thursday, May 15 at the rugby field by George S. Henry Academy, 200 Graydon Hall Dr, North York, ON. George S Henry is north east of Don Mills Rd and York Mills Rd. The filed is lined and post pads will be on. It will be reffed by Colin Shaw.
Scottish III’s will be fielding a mix of youth and experience, like the Bucs. The Buccaneers will be using this opportunity to mix our players of all levels to get used to playing with each other, and, to implement a game plan we’d like to execute in our next league match (vs. Cobourg May 24).
All Buccaneers are encouraged to make it out, please bring your training jersey and arrive for 6:30 pm for warm-up and team selection. It will be rolling subs, so everyone will play. The game will kick off at 7 pm and will be 3 periods of 15 minute. If you can only make one practice this month, I encourage you to make it out to this one.
We have Gus Prokos, the head coach of the George S Henry rugby program for getting this together for us. Gus will be directing his high school players towards the Buccaneers for our summer rugby junior program. If you get a moment be sure to introduce yourself to Gus, and, be encouraging to the junior players from George S Henry who will be watching us (future Buccaneers!).
Beers will be flowing at the Fox & Fiddle after.
Anyone who might need a ride there, please send a request to Sean Webb, Fraser Cook or Brian Crothers and we’ll try to sort you out.
